Tajikistan | Christian Persecuted By His Family

Hakim* recently came to faith in Jesus, coming from a Muslim background. Now he’s experiencing persecution from his Muslim family.

He told his mother that he had become a Christian, and what Jesus had done for him. All of his Muslim relatives found out.

Hakim’s older brother threatened him, telling him to convert back to Islam. When Hakim refused, his brother beat him – again telling him to convert back to Islam. When he refused a second time, his brother grabbed an iron and burnt Hakim’s hands.

Hakim fled his home and was able to stay with one of his other relatives. Open Doors’ partners in Tajikistan are looking at ways they can support Hakim.

Hakim told us, “Please pray for me and I will try to stand all these difficulties for the sake of Jesus Messiah and with His strength."

Please Pray:

  • Pray for God to strengthen Hakim's faith and encourage him to remain firm in Jesus.
  • Pray for Hakim’s relatives to accept his new faith, and that they would also come to know Jesus.
  • Pray for wisdom for our partners to know how to best support Hakim.
