The Stories Of The Bible Are Alive Today
The Book of Acts is saturated with incredible church growth and rampant persecution. Stories in the Bible are not simply historic, but very much alive today. But are we living like we are still part of Jesus’ ministry on earth through his Holy Spirit? Or do we believe the stories in the Bible are only past tense?
The moment we read the Bible as a past tense book it is no threat to Satan – it has no danger, no power to convict a modern Christian.
We’re passionate about sharing the gospel, and driven to be part of what God is doing globally, so that in trial and persecution all believers might be “one in heart and mind” (Acts 4:32-35).
Each year we have an opportunity to continue to serve the persecuted church. Many of you will remember when we asked for your help in sharing our vision of making caring for the persecuted church part of the DNA of every Christian. I want to take a moment to thank you for all you’ve done in helping this become a reality.
There is still so much work to be done in raising awareness and support by sharing the stories of the persecuted church in our country and, more than that, a great need in using those stories to prepare the Australian church for the changing nature of faith in our country.
Here are three simple ways you can help:
- Invite us to speak at your church.
- Hold an Open Doors screening of The Insanity of God documentary in your church.
- Hold a Walk to Water in your small group or community.
Also take a look at our World Watch List. The country profiles and interactive map help you to discover what it looks like to follow Jesus in the most dangerous parts of the world.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support. There is much to be done, but we have a brilliant team who love the Lord and work tirelessly to ensure we’re great stewards of your generosity and love.
