Walk To Water
Bring Hope To The Middle East
Walk To Water unites friends, communities and churches for one purpose - to help people follow Jesus all over the world, no matter the cost. We are one body and one Church.
This year walk, run or cycle to water to raise funds to help Christians in the Middle East remain and rebuild after the war.
100% of funds raised will go to the field.

Hope For The Middle East
100% of funds raised will go towards building Centres of Hope in Iraq and Syria in order to help Christians remain and rebuild after the war.
"The families are perplexed and confused about their future. They are without jobs, their houses are destroyed or damaged. There are so many challenges... We need to encourage the Christians to stay in this land."

FAQs

General
Where should I do Walk To Water?
Your route could be to a beach, river, lake or even a water fountain! It could be a nature trail or track or a walk through your city. Need a challenge? Choose a more difficult course with increasing elevation, stairs or a longer distance!
Does the walk need to get a council permit?
Some councils do require a permit to hold a community event, so please contact your local council to find out if you need to obtain one. However, try and choose a route that doesn’t require a council permit to make the process easier.
When is Walk To Water?
We have suggested you do Walk To Water anytime during the month of September.
Does it have to be a walk?
No. If you want more of a challenge you could choose to do something different like run or cycle.
Are there any age restrictions?
No, however anyone under the age of 16 will have to sign a consent form sent to you by the fundraising platform (Everyday Hero).
Where does Open Doors work and how?
Open Doors is a charity helping people follow Jesus all over the world, no matter the cost.
Whether that’s by smuggling Bibles into places they’re difficult to get, training pastors, providing micro-business loans or emergency relief for Christians who need it most – we work to strengthen the local church, worldwide.
We also invest into the church in New Zealand and Australia by connecting them with the global body of Christ, whose stories encourage and challenge them to courageously follow Jesus, no matter the cost.

100% of the funds raised from Walk To Water will go to the field. This project is a $210,000 project for Centres of Hope in the Middle East. If the project becomes fully funded your donations will go towards Open Doors work in the Middle East, providing Bibles, training and practical support for persecuted Christians.
