Saudi Arabia Prison Release - Yohan & Vasantha

Praise the Lord for the release of two brothers, both Christians, from a Saudi Prison.

Yohan (31) and Vasantha (28) have been imprisoned in Saudi Arabia since 21st January, and were only recently released. The two Indian Christians had been arrested after a prayer meeting with other Indian nationals, when the apartment was raided by the Mutaween, the religious police of Saudi Arabia.

After their arrest, the two Christians were interrogated and beaten severely. The next day the authorities took them to the religious court in Riyadh. They were sentenced to 45 days in prison on accusation of converting Muslims to Christianity.

They were imprisoned without further charges or accusations. By 30th May, Vasantha was released after 160 days detention and only recently, on 12th July, Yohan was released after 203 days of imprisonment.
