Oman
The law prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion. However, all religious organisations must be registered, and there are limitations on evangelism and printing religious material. New believers from a Muslim background face severe persecution from family and society. There is a small number of active churches, made up largely of foreign workers. There is reported to be a steady stream of conversions among Asians working in Oman.
Examples of Persecution:
- A Muslim Background Believer was treated with electro shocks
Open Doors is: providing pastoral care and support, distributing Christian literature, and praying for believers
Please Pray:
- That the restricted access to Christian literature and multimedia resources will be overcome to the benefit of many
- That God will bless expatriate churches seeking to share the Gospel with the people of Oman
- For secret believers, who are often isolated and lack teaching and resources to help them grow in their faith.
