Chechnya
The Church in Chechnya is very young, vulnerable an disolated, and Christian leaders lack much needed Biblical training. Most of the children living in the country have experienced war, witnessed people dying, and many have lost loved ones. Fellowship with other believers is nearly impossible, and Chechens who become Christians usually leave the country to meet with other believers. Local authorities and relatives monitor the activities of Christians and put great pressure on them to return to Islam. Christian conversion is seen to be a great social disgrace on the family, and sometimes the "guilty" are killed to restore honour.
Examples of Persecution:
Several people who became known as Christians received serious death threats and had to leave the country.
Open Doors is: partnering with churches and other organisations to support the Church in Chechnya, promoting worldwide prayer for believers

Please Pray:
- Many Christians have given up on their faith, as the pressure became too great for them. Pray that God would help them persevere despite the difficulties
- For the many orphans whose parents were killed during the wars
- That in the future Christians would be able to openly confess their faith
