Brunei
The state religion of Brunei is Islam, and despite guaranteed religious freedom byt the constitution, it is illegal for a Muslim to convert to another religion. Most Christians in Brunei are expatriates and migrants, who are allowed to practise their faith, but are not to share it with Malays, the major people group in Brunei. Churches must register, but requests are frequently ignored by officials, and registered churches are closely monitored by government officials. They are prohibited from taking in seekers and converts from the local population, and violation of these restrictions results in church closure and possible imprisonment for the pastor. Importing Bibles and Christian literature is illegal for ministry purposes, but not for personal use.
Examples of Persecution:
- Non-Muslims are prohibited from receiving religious education in private religious schools, which was previously allowed.
- Churches are actively monitored and there has been disruption of supply shipments and mail

Please Pray:
- For believers from a Muslim background who are often isolated and neglected, because of the restrictions placed on churches
- For Christians facing discrimination in the workplace. They are ineligible for top positions in the government. Pray that Christians would be treated equally and fairly in their work environments
- For God to give strength and wisdom to the few pastors prepared to minister to believers from a Muslim background
